BIOGRAPHY

He studied couterpoint and composition in São Paulo with Edmundo Villani Cortes and Osvaldo Lacerda, conducting and choir with Samuel Kerr, musical analysis and orchestration with George Kászas and Michel Philippot, musicology with Roger Cotte and contemporary music with John Boudler and Garth Drozin. He graduated in compostion and conducting in 1986, at the Arts Institute of Unesp. He was a computer programmer and studied electronic music (sampling, midi and sythesis) with Hélio Ziskind and Jorge Poulsen.He worked as score editor and arranger at the Arlequim publishing house in São Paulo. His work Seresta No. 2 for solo oboe won a prize at the composition contest of the radio program Ligue Para um Clássico (Call a classic) of RTC (Rádio e Televisão Cultura) in 1983. The work was performed by the oboist Alex Klein. He won 1st prize for the work Cinco Miniaturas em Forma de Suíte (Five Miniatures in The Form of Suite) for piano, performed by Kathia Giuliano in the 1982 Bach Trophy composition contest.
