BIOGRAPHY

He started his piano studies with his mother and with Gabriel Giraudon, in São Paulo.Then he studied piano in Florence, Italy, with Giuseppe Buonamici and Henri Ketten and composition with Gioachino Maglioni and Reginaldo Grazzini. He was vice-consul of Brazil in Havre and in Florence. He was pianist and professor at the Istituto Musicale in Florence and at the National Institute of Music in Rio de Janeiro, where he was also the director. His work Il Neige!… won the composition contest of the newspaper Le Figaro of Paris, which had Saint-Saëns, Gabriel Fauré and Louis Diérner as part of the examining board.
