BIOGRAPHY
He firstly studied flute with his father, Alfério Mignone, and music at the Dramatic and Musical Conservatory of São Paulo with Agostinho Cantú e Savino de Benedictis. At the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi, in Milan, he studied composition with Vincenzo Ferroni. He was a pianist, conductor and professor at the Dramatic and Musical Conservatory of São Paulo, at the School of Music of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and at the Brazilian Conservatory of Music, of which he was also the founder. He was member and presidente of the Brazilian Academy of Music, director of the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro and musical director of the rádios MEC and Globo.
