BIOGRAPHY

Vale studied violin with his uncle, Joao Augusto de Campos, was a professor at the Conservatório Mineiro de Música, played in orchestras for radio and silent movies and was concertmaster of the Orquestra da Sociedade Mineira de Concertos Sinfônicos. Vale was also a lawyer, journalist, writer, and poet. He wrote for several newspapers as a music columnist, published a treatise on folklore, an essay on musicians from Minas Gerais and wrote music for small instrumental and vocal groups.
