BIOGRAPHY

Bassoon player, he was a pupil of Francisco Formiga and Benjamin Coelho. In 1994, he became a bassoonist of the Symphonic Orchestra of Minas Gerais and, in the following year, he moved to the United States, where he graduated at the Harid Conservatory, in the class of Arthur Weisberg. As a solo and chamber musician, he has already performed recitals in Brazil, United States and Eastern Europe. Since 1999, when he returned to Brazil, he has performed as contrabassoonist in the Osesp. In addition to his activities as an interpreter, he has also been recognised as “a promising talent as a composer” (Tim Smith, Sun Sentinel — Florida, EUA). He presented his Duo for Bassoon and Guitar at the 1999 Conference of the International Society of Double Reeds, in the United States, and performed a complete recital of his works, including the Concertino for Violin, Bassoon and Chamber Orchestra, at the August, 2000 edition of the Conference, in Buenos Aires.
